I started practising yoga in the late 1990s, qualifying as an Iyengar Yoga Teacher in 2005 and then soon after joined the team at the wonderful Sarva Iyengar Yoga Institute in High Wycombe. As well as teaching and covering classes at Sarva, I also took on the role of Office Manager, dealing with the day to day running of the centre.

I continued to teach locally when Sarva closed in 2014, but I also took on a full time administrative job. In 2016, a breast cancer diagnosis gave me the opportunity to re-evaluate my life. I gave up my office job, preferring to return to more teaching once I recovered. Throughout my treatment, yoga has been hugely beneficial to my recovery. I continued to teach throughout most of the treatment, because both teaching and practising was, and continues to be, a great joy and comfort.
