Yoga Shala Winter Newsletter 2022-23

Hi everyone.

As we approach the end of 2022, Christmas has been celebrated and the New Year is almost upon us, here is a bit of what to expect in 2023.

The classes at the Yoga Shala resume from week beginning Monday 9th January.
We will start with pranayama at 8pm on the 9th January. This is a monthly session which usually runs on the second Monday in each month. Note that in February it will run on Monday 6th.
The regular weekly classes remain the same and can be viewed and booked on the Timetable & Fees page of the website. Please remember to include your surname when booking a lesson.
You cannot book for the remedial class. If you think this class is for you, please contact me directly. For those of you already in the class please continue as before.

For Michelle’s Monday lesson at 6:15pm and Sara’s Wednesday lesson at 10am you will need to book directly with the teacher, their details are below the timetable.

My half-term break will be Monday 13th to Friday 17th February – there will be no lessons with me during that week.
For Easter there will be no classes with me during the weeks beginning Monday 3rd & 10th April.

The weekend workshops continue with options as follows:
Level 1 – these are 3 hours long, normally on a Sunday morning (general level for everyone except new beginners); the next one is on Sunday 8th January.
Level 2 – a full day workshop normally on a Saturday; the next one is on Saturday 21st January.
Level 3 – two full days of practice over a weekend, aimed at teachers or experienced students. The next one is 4th & 5th February.
Please see the Workshop tab on the menu bar of the website for details of the workshops. Though we will only have one of each available to book at any time on the booking selection, the future dates for your diary will be listed on the relevant page on the website.

While I do not teach regular online classes (I prefer to be in the studio) I am teaching two sessions in January for the international Navayogimarga online festival. For more details about the festival read the information on their website https://www.navayogimarga.com/
If you are interested in joining any of the classes given during the festival (there are many international presenters) then log in to the festival website. You can get a 5% discount by inputting the code SHA1 into the Discount Box after pressing the ‘Add to Cart’ button.

The Iyengar Yoga Association of the UK, IY(UK), are running an online convention in February 2023 from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th. If you are interested to be a part of this virtual convention, please visit this link https://iyengaryoga.org.uk/conventions-events/conventions/

If you haven’t ventured back to the Yoga Shala during 2022, I hope we might see you again in 2023.

With my best wishes for the coming year.

Sheila
